The Luxurious Houstonian Summer Day Wedding

Melissa and Stephen's wedding day was located at the Elegant Manor House at the Houstonian in Houston, Texas. This historical venue brought all of the bride's favorite details to life with the gorgeous elements of the location. The stunning floor-to-ceiling mirror, the beautiful original hardwood floors, the timeless floral curtains, and the lovely courtyard area, made for a very versatile and personalized wedding day for these two amazing people.

While I capture a lot of weddings throughout the years, there are always those little special touches that stand out to me that each of my couples chooses to represent their own personal style and personality. My favorite, unusual part about this wedding day (that I absolutely LOVED) was the fact that it was a midday wedding. This time frame was so perfect! Having a wedding day schedule at this time allowed the natural elements of the sun to bring in that natural, bright summer glow inside and outside, consistently throughout the wedding.

My favorite time of day to photograph is during that morning dewy air. When we arrived at the venue to start shooting, you could still see the condensation on the windows, the grass was wet on our feet bringing in that slightly cooler element to a hot Texas day in July. We enjoyed watching their daughters’ reaction to the bride's dress, and her nervous giggles as she walked down the aisle. We laughed with dad as he gave the ultimate toast, listened to some live music, and ended the day cutting some delicious cake in the shape of a very realistic-looking shoe.

I left this Wedding feeling so overjoyed for this sweet couple and their gorgeous day.

Congratulations Melissa and Stephen.
